This is my second match at my first ever bjj tournament. It's a beginner level fight, but I'm a bit outclassed in this one. I've only been working at this for 10 weeks or so, but Chance (my opponent) has a couple of pro MMA fights under his belt (both of which he's won). I taught Chance grade 10 English a few years back and he's a really good guy. Anyway, I think I get the whizzer cinched in pretty deep here, so I'm happy with that, but Chance's footwork is much, much better than mine, so when I make the mistake of throwing my hips across his, he makes me pay. Seeing it now, it's pretty obvious he's looking for the arm bar from the instant we hit the mat, but it came quickly and unexpectedly at the time, so that was that. I did manage to go on to win a bronze medal; needless to say, Chance got the gold.
