This was a Mathematics project my classmates and I decided to work on when we were in Grade 10 at Diocesan Boys' School, a local high school in Hong Kong.
With a limited budget we decided to use PVC tubes (i.e. narrow water pipes) and some plastic circles to serve as joints. We cut the pipes by ourselves to the precise length so that when they fit together they can form a curvature. We started building from the top so that we could lift up the dome as we build, thus no ladders or other tools were needed. As it was the first time we tried to build it it took us about 3-4 hours to complete the construction (even the camera ran out of battery D:). Thanks must be given to our school for giving us such support to work on this project.
Hope you enjoy this video and please do comment or give any new ideas!
