Canadian Pacific 8952, 9584, 9534, 8756 northbound at mile 104 of the Mactier subdivision at Buckskin in Severn Falls pulling autorack and double stack intermodal cars.
The Buckskin derailment site is at the end of this video. At nearly the one year anniversary of the derailment in Severn Falls, the Transportation Safety Board finally released the official cause (which I was told shortly after the accident by some railroad employees). An overheated journal bearing caused a car to take the turnout onto the siding which was occupied by a standing train. Since there have been three similar derailments at this site, Canadian Pacific will be installing additional detectors to attempt to prevent future occurrences.
