A field of turbines has sprung up out at sea off Herne Bay and Reculver in Kent. I walked towards Reculver this week and saw the tubines doing very little and I wondered if they could ever pay their way. How long before they make more electricity than was needed to produce them? Maintenance, lack of wind, bird strikes, dependence on French nuclear fuel - all these made me wonder if the turbines make sense. Sometimes a song helps, hope you enjoy Terry the Turbine.
