In response to the claim that Olivia (and one questionably mentally ill person that used multiple fake 'catfish' accounts) pulled off a hoax on a real world suicide prevention community.
On the plus side, only in-game money was lost, no real cash has been scammed. On the plus side, awareness regarding suicide was raised through the EVE Online and even the Cosplay community as I gave talks in Larvik, Norway to people there.
It is hard to explain to gamers and non-gamers how our community in EVE Online works. We will destroy you in game, but we have a 'poker face' that when the game is over, we get together in real life, laugh, and drink to each others evil in-game. We donate to real worlds crisis like the Red Cross. We built a real-world monument to our players in Iceland. I can proudly say that I am also very proud of our community that stands up for the right cause when we need to, but to troll this community is a mistake.
To that guy (and we know who you are) that committed this hoax, you may think you made me and others look like fools. You dropped a tear from my eye and if that makes you feel good then you do need to seek mental health.
However, you are the fool, because my tears are for the real Olivia's that are out there, and there are many of US whose REAL NAME is Olivia. I am proud of my fellow capsuleers that also stood with me and the real Olivia's out there.
Enjoy your fake reality, and please, get the professional help you need.
