An example of applying the leather to a book that will be fully bound in leather. The video is kind of long, but is un-edited, and shows the actual work being done, and gives a good idea of how much time and effort is involved. Of course, there are many additional steps, before and after, that combine to make up the entire process. At the end of the video, the work is then placed in a book press, and more time is spent to shape and form the leather around the raised bands. Then, the book is tied, and clamped in a specific manner to assure the leather will adhere to the bands, and French Groove, and then left that way for a few hours, adjusted, and then left overnight. This nearly completes the Forwarding. Next step will be the corners. Then, the Finishing - spine labels, marbled paper endsheets, and gilding.
