At Home Herbal Tincture Recipe
You will need: *A clean glass jar with lid (the larger the better) *80 proof or higher vodka *Herb of choice (today I am using holy basil)
Instructions: *Fill the glass jar with fresh herb about 3/4 don’t pack it down too much. *Fill the rest of the jar with vodka. Give it a quick swirl with a clean spoon *Put the lid on and label your tincture *Store the jar in a cool/dry place and give it a shake every day for the first week. *Allow your tincture to sit another 5 weeks. Which will be 6 weeks in total before your tincture is ready. *After 6 weeks strain the tincture through cheesecloth and store in a dark coloured dropper bottle this will ensure the integrity of the tincture *Most individuals will take approximately a half to 1 teaspoon of tincture per day but again you will need the ok from your health care professional.
