A presentation by Gene Baur, Farm Sanctuary President.

Gene Baur will discuss his national best-seller, Farm Sanctuary: Changing Hearts and Minds About Animals and Food, a thought provoking investigation of the ethical questions involved in the production of beef, poultry, pork, milk, and eggs -- and what each of us can do to promote compassion and help stop the systematic mistreatment of the ten billion farm animals who are exploited specifically for food in the United States every year.

Mr. Baur is co-founder and president of Farm Sanctuary, America${q}s leading farm animal protection organization. He holds a master${q}s degree in agricultural economics from Cornell University and has conducted hundreds of visits to farms, stockyards, and slaughterhouses to document conditions. His pictures and videotape, exposing factory farming cruelty, have been aired nationally and internationally, educating millions. His efforts have been covered by leading news organizations, including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, National Public Radio, ABC, NBC, CBS, and CNN.
