Various clips from Idina Menzel's Broadway run in Wicked.

Idina Menzel originated the now iconic role of Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the 2003 Broadway musical, Wicked. In June of 2004, Menzel received the coveted Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical for her performance. In 2006, she reprised her role in the West End production when it opened in London, winning the Theatregoers Choice Award for (yet again) Best Leading Actress in a Musical. Although many years have passed, and countless actresses have succeeded in the role, Idina Menzel remains the performer against whom all others are measured.
