This zombie brains pop music video and short film, "Brains! (My B.F. Freddy)", came to me in two separate dreams...or should I say nightmares! I knew I had to bring them to life and here is the final product. I hope you enjoy this Michael Jackson Thriller style, super low-budget-horror-pop freak show!! If you like this music video, please subscribe and/or leave a comment.
P.S. A FEW FUN FILM FACTS:
-We shot this low budget film/music video on a budget of $300.00 including the camera.
-We got stood up! We found some guy on Craigslist to film our video and in return, we were going to pay him back by making music for his next project. He backed out without notice. Peter and I didn't get discouraged...we went out and bought a camera and were like, "We can do this!", which is crazy because we have never attempted anything like this before.
-I filmed the pink bedroom scene while I was at home all alone. I had no music or other voices to work with (besides the ones in my head..ha ha) and it was shot entirely in one take until you see me falling sleeping. This scene came to me in a dream two nights after we filmed the music video itself, so I knew exactly what I needed to do. Did you notice the lights kind of flickering in this scene? It was storming outside which freaked me out a little bit. I love the rain!
-I have never attempted acting before...it had never crossed my mind.
-The books you see in the first scene have really been next to my bedside table for years. I've been meaning to read them but I've been too glued to my textbooks instead. I'm such a dork!
-That is a real martini. He he.
-I had never written music or thought I had the ability to do so before I met Peter 8 years ago. He inspires me with all of his talent.
- Peter has known the naked zombie, Ben, since age 15 when they started making music together. I believe they could be those musicians who come around, every once and a while, and change music as we know it.
-The "killer in the woods" jumpsuit was my dads from the 70's. I had him get in out of the attic for me.
- All of the blood, brains, and low budget special effects were made out of food products due to my paranoia of toxic theater make-up. Yes, I have issues. I was a natural at making the brain though since Peter and I took Human Anatomy last semester. I Love low budget guts! Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts! Mutilated monkey meat! That's the stuff I like to eat!!
-If you can't tell, I'm a huge fan of Michael Jackson's "Thriller" as well as cheesy 80's gore horror movies. Love them!
