The South Atlantic League (Class A) Greensboro Grasshoppers, in Greensboro, North Carolina, have a bat dog. During the 3rd and 7th innings of every home game, "Miss Babe Ruth" retrieves the Grasshoppers' bats after a base hit or walk. Miss Babe can also run the bases, and brings a clean baseball to the Umpire when he needs one. Miss Babe's apprentice, "Yogi Berra" also makes a couple of appearances during home games. Yogi likes to play fetch in the outfield. They fire a ball out of an airgun for Yogi to retrieve.

I wanted to get some good video of Babe and Yogi, so Dad helped me turn and zoom the camera. Everyone stood up in front of me when the Grasshoppers won, so Dad took the video of Babe and Yogi celebrating and playing after the game.

The Grasshoppers were playing the Hickory Crawdads on the night this video was shot. (August 7, 3009)
