Hey guys, I'm Fabs, and today I'm gonna walk you guys through some really simple steps in creating really cool YouTube thumbnails using PicMonkey. Now, this isn't only a guide for YouTubers, it can be extremely helpful and useful for anyone who wants to create any kind of banner or any graphic design using overlays, text, and images. Now let's get started.
Once on PicMonkey's home page, I'm gonna hover over the design tab, and enter my own custom size, 1280 by 720. Then, I'm gonna upload my own overlay, drag it down to where I want to put it, and do the same with a different image and overlap it just a bit. I'm using my eraser tool to erase the top photo just enough so I can see the bottom one. Since both images have a similar background, it kind of blends together. Now I'm gonna continue doing the same for a few more images. That looks good.
Now I wanna put some sort of border between my images and my text, so I'm gonna use this dotted line overlay and use my eye drop color picker to pick what color I want it to be. Then I'm gonna go back to my eraser tool and just erase the rest of the images on the top of the line. Now I'm gonna upload a rectangular overlay and drag it across the top. Then, just right click, send it to the back and use my color picker to choose whatever color I wish. I like this pink.
Now I wannna add some textures, so I'm gonna go to my effects and pick some shapes. I'm gonna make them nice and glowy and use my paintbrush to just color out the images from the bottom because I don't want the effect to be applied on them. Now it's time for some text. I'm gonna make it nice and white so it stands out, and I like to right click and duplicate the text, just so it all looks the same. Perfect. I'm gonna go back to my overlays and apply a rectangular one behind my text. Then, I just right click, and I send it to the back. Now my white font stands out so much more. Now I'm gonna do the same for perfect. Pick my color, and then for candid photo, I want to do something a little bit different. I'm gonna go to effects and click on draw. Then, after picking my color, I'm gonna bring my brush hardness all the way down so that it gives it kind of an airbrushed look. Cool. Now I'm just gonna take it up a little bit, and voila.
That was easy, right? Now you try it. Go to picmonkey.com to put all of these tips to use. Thanks for watching!
