Portland, Maine is a thriving working waterfront where fishermen land pollock, haddock, lobster, cod, and more. But not long ago the end seemed to be near for the Maine fishing industry. When fisherman Terry Alexander started fishing, there were no regulations, and fish stocks declined. Now, the new catch shares management program has brought the fish- and the fishermen- back.
Sea to Table partners with local fishermen from small-scale sustainable wild fisheries, finding better markets for their catch. Delivering overnight, direct from the source, reducing time and cost, allowing diners to know the 'who, how and where' of the impossibly fresh fish they enjoy, creating a direct connection from fisherman to chef.
