Please visit the site. 0:00 hey guys this is Rex here with Apple toolbox and I'm sure I'm not the first 0:05 mac user to see this screen you know you wake up get a fresh cup of coffee 0:10 you're ready to get to work and then you're stuck here it's frustrating i 0:14 know but let's walk through a few things you can do to get up and running again 0:17 if you boot it up your mac and getting stuck here after you've heard the chime 0:28 keep your fingers crossed that it's just a simple software hiccup that can be 0:31 fixed easily if you've got a problem with your hardware the fix is probably 0:36 going to be a bit more extensive so the first thing you should do is try to boot 0:40 up in safe mode 0:42 Mac os10 10.2 and later allow you to boot up in safe mode which will 0:47 automatically check your disk and repair any issues to do this shutdown your mac 0:52 and power it back up while holding the shift key 0:55 you can let go with the shift key after you see the apple logo 0:58 keep in mind that safe boot will take a little bit longer than normal but once 1:02 your Mac fully starts up in safe mode 1:04 go ahead and restart it normally if moving up in safe mode didn't solve any 1:08 problems you can try to pinpoint the issue by running disk utility 1:13 to do this hold down the command and our keys while powering up your Mac a Mac 1:18 os10 utilities window should show up from here you can go ahead and select 1:23 disk utility 1:24 next click your OS 10 hard drive and then select first aid 1:28 once you run this process disk utility will go through and verify then repair 1:33 your disk 1:35 another thing you may try as resetting the pier am or parameter random access 1:39 memory which stores some of your system settings to do this 1:44 hold down the option command P and our keys at the same time while booting up 1:49 your mac 1:50 once you hear the startup chime you can go ahead and let go 1:53 your Mac will then reset the pier am and then it will restart completely in most 1:58 cases one of the steps I've covered so far we'll fix your issue if they haven't 2:03 you can always reinstall OS 10 2:06 now you can reinstall from the mac OS 10 utilities window that we saw earlier 2:12 so again to get there you're going to hold down command and our while booting 2:16 up your mag and instead of selecting this utility this time you're going to 2:21 select the reinstall OS 10 option 2:24 now we'll ask you a couple of questions to make sure that's what you want to do 2:28 but once you go through this process OS 10 will be completely reinstall on your 2:33 mac and this should fix any issues that you had 2:37 now once again if you do have a hardware issue that none of these software tips 2:41 are going to help 2:42 you're probably going to have to set up an appointment at an apple store and see 2:46 if they can help you out 2:47 and there's always a chance you may just have to buy a new mac computer anyways i 2:52 hope that at least one of these tips help you guys get your mac up and 2:56 running again 2:57 let us know in the comments if you liked this video content and we will certainly 3:00 do more 3:02 also check out the article we published over at Apple to box.com will put a link 3:06 in the description it has a couple of other more in-depth ways that you can 3:10 possibly fix your mac if you're stuck on a white screen 3:14 well that's going to do it for this video guys I appreciate you watching and 3:17 I will see you next time later
