Poul Engberg-Pedersen is the Deputy Director General/Managing Director of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). IUCN is the world's oldest and largest global environmental organization whose mission is to help the world find pragmatic solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges. IUCN works on biodiversity, climate change, energy, human livelihoods and greening the world economy by supporting scientific research, managing field projects all over the world, and bringing governments, NGOs, the UN and companies together to develop policy, laws and best practice. Mr Engberg-Pedersen, who was previously the Director General of Norad, and has broad experience in the field of development, will give a talk on how green technology and nature-based solutions can be used as a component to combat poverty.
