YouthNet staff & LAHF show how they might reach the 22 minute mark, for the Start 00:22 campaign. -------- As part of the Fidget project, YouthNet (via our website TheSite.org) are running a competition, (where you could win an iPad) to find out how you can reach 22 minutes of physical activity in your day.
Because we all know that exercise is good for us, but sometimes it's difficult to find the motivation to do it or squeeze it into your normal routine. But physical activity doesn't have to be punishing or difficult - we're designed to move, we just need to consider in our daily lives how we can move more. Reducing sitting time and notching up extra minutes of activity bring benefits; and it can start with just 22 minutes of moderate activity; that will raise heart rate, but leave you with enough puff to hold a conversation. Start with 22 minutes, something simple that you can fit into your day. By changing a few things; be it taking the stairs instead of the lift, you'll get to that 22 minute mark before you even know it. You'll then find it easy to increase the minutes & level up -- because it's obvious, the more minutes you do, the better the rewards.
