From the Bel Canto Opera production: Gretel sings to herself while making a floral crown.

GRETEL: There stands a little elf by a tall fir tree
He mumbles to himself very quietly
Only on one leg, he stands
Holding pine cones in his hands
Who is he? I wonder who that dwarf can be?

He wears a purple suit and a red goatee
He only wears one boot on the foot you see
All day long he's standing there
Combing out his long red hair
Mumbling Rumplestiltskin,
it sounds to me.
that is what his name must be!

(Hansel enters jauntily, with the basket full of wild strawberries)

HANSEL: Look here!
No basket has been as full as this is!
Mother will welcome us back with kisses.
