Photoelectron angular distribution (PAD) from vibrational autoionization of nitric oxide. The red shell is a simulation of the complete 3-D PAD resulting from NO d (n = 14, v = 1, N = 19) state, prepared by double resonant excitation with perpendicularly polarized laser beams, decaying to NO+ (N = 18) + e^-. The green circles represent a typical path for data collection.
