In Fright Night, high school student Charlie Brewster (Anton Yelchin) has finally hit his stride -- he's running with the popular crowd and dating Amy Peterson (Imogen Poots), the hottest girl in school. In fact, he's so cool he's even dissing his best friend Ed (Christopher Mintz-Plasse).
Just when everything seems to have fallen in to place, trouble arrives when an intriguing stranger Jerry Dandridge (Colin Farrell) moves in next door easily charming the ladies in the neighbourhood, including Charlie's mother (Toni Collette). Jerry seems like a great guy at first but there's something not quite right. After witnessing some frightening activity, Charlie comes to the conclusion that Jerry is no ordinary neighbour. He's a vampire.
Unable to convince anyone that he's telling the truth, Charlie seeks out celebrity vampire slayer Peter Vincent (David Tennant) teaming up to get rid of the monster themselves.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, this reimagining of a cult horror classic deftly blends thrills, chills and smart humour for a new horror experience.
Fright Night is out in UK cinemas on 2 September 2011.
