MOV Design Sundays with UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture
Bill Pechet speaks about the place of academia in the city and the conceptual approach to Design Sundays.
About SALA Speaks: Architecture matters, but isn't always understood beyond the academe or industry. Every Sunday in March 2012, the MOV presented discussions about architecture, landscape architecture and urban design, theory, and practice.
With an aim to spark participatory and accessible discussions about the role of architecture in our community and beyond, SALA SPEAKS was a 4-part series presented in partnership with the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (SALA) at the University of British Columbia, that invites their faculty to speak to the wider issues, inspirations, and challenges that configure their research, practice, and teaching here in Vancouver.
Featuring thematic pairings that evolves from week to week - from Technology, to Constructing, Parts to Wholes and City Systems - we engaged in thoughtful dialogue on both the cultural impact of architectural thinking and practice in Vancouver, as well as their civic implications and applications.
