Did you know that recent statistics reveal that Maricopa County, in which Phoenix is located, led the state of Arizona in DUI convictions? In the year 2013 alone, there were thousands of convictions on charges of driving under the influence. If you have been arrested on a DUI charge, you need to hire a good lawyer immediately. You don't want to become one of those statistics! Because of the high rate of arrests and convictions in and around Phoenix on DUI charges, there is a booming business for attorneys who specialize in this area of law. This can make looking a Phoenix DUI lawyer challenging, because there are so many attorneys and law offices to choose from. How do you tell the good from the bad? Look at their references and review them with a critical eye. Don't just see testimonials on their website and believe that the snippets they have printed accurately represent their past clients' total and overall feelings about how the attorney handled their case. Do your homework and look them up at http://www.azbar.org/. The testimonials or references should have identifying information, such as the client's name. Try to look up the dispensation of their case if you can. If nothing else, ask your potential lawyer for references, with phone numbers, who would be willing to talk to you. Quiz those people about their experience with the attorney. Don't just settle for, "I like him, he's a great guy." You are considering whether or not to place your legal future, if not your future freedom, into this person's hands! Find out specific instances where their past client thinks the lawyer did a competent, or preferably an outstanding, job handling their case. It may sound deceptively simple, but do a little background check on your potential attorney. I'm not talking about something as serious as hiring a private investigator to look into their lives, but do a simple computer search at the very least. See what people on review sites and message boards have said about them. I would certainly not discount hiring a DUI attorney in Scottsdale whose qualifications I was seriously considering over one misplaced rant on a message board. That would be ludicrous. Some people, as I'm sure you have experienced in your life as well, will never be able to be pleased no matter how professional and competent the work done for them was. On the other hand, looking at a pattern of reviews across the net does allow you to pick up common threads that reoccur. If you see multiple people complaining about the same issue, chances are the thing that displeased them could become an issue for you, as well. Serving Scottsdale, Mesa, Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, Phoenix and all of Maricopa County. Resources and more information:
