For many years now the US has been falling behind other nations in the number of students interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) careers. Scott Holloway explores what can be done to generate interest among students in their quest to master difficult academic courses such as physics and the impact of hands-on collaborative projects and labs.

Scott has been teaching high school Advanced Placement physics, AP Environmental Science, chemistry and physical science for the past 14 years. While at El Camino Real High School he served as department chair for 3 years, coached both athletic and academic teams including: varsity girls soccer and Envirothon. The past 5 years he has taught physics at Westlake High School and has been advisor to the robotics club.

Scott has been married to his wife Vicki for 14 years. They have two children Caden, 8 and Jenna, 6. He earned a Masters degree in science education from California State University Northridge in 2010.

It is a broad topic designed to explore the always fascinating, often inspiring, occasionally surprising and sometimes vexing interconnectedness of our world. Speakers and presenters from the arts and sciences, business and economics, public service and philanthropy, education and learning, psychology and medicine, entertainment and technology, and others, share ideas through signature talks delivered in 18 minutes or less.
