Shibley Telhami is the special guest on this episode of the "Conversations from St. Norbert College" television show hosted by dean and academic vice president Michael Marsden. Telhami is an expert on United States policy in the Middle East, specializing in the role of the news media in shaping political identity and public opinion in the region.

Telhami is the Anwar Sadat professor for peace and justice at the University of Maryland, College Park. He is also a non-resident senior fellow at the Saban Center at the Brookings Institution. Telhami has contributed to The Washington Post, the New York Times, and the Los Angeles Times and regularly appears on national and international radio and television. His latest book is "The Stakes: America and the Middle East" which was selected by foreign affairs as one of the top five books on the Middle East in 2003. Telhami received his master's degree from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
