Shelley shows how to make a great snack and addition to cheese trays for parties.
Spiced Candied Nuts Yield: 1 cup
1 cup nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios or pecans) 2 tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon 2 teaspoons honey
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the nuts and boil for 30 seconds. Drain and transfer to a small bowl. 3. Toss the blanched nuts with the sugar, salt, pepper, cinnamon and honey. Mix well and transfer to a parchment lined sheet tray. 4. Bake, stirring occasionally, until the nuts are golden brown, about 20 to 25 minutes. 5. Allow to cool before serving.
