Rewinding Back... 2013!

How do I even begin to explain? It has been a year since I last blogged... since I last wrote anything.

I was coming off a fun and entertaining 2012 where I went to so many shows and met so many musicians based in and out of the area.

2013 was far from that! I didn't think it was going to blow me away.

2013 was, by far, becoming one of the most touching... most memorable... most unbelievable year I have had in a long time!

1:02 - My first NBA game! Linsanity in Washington DC!! Wizards, the home team, wins!! Wizards (104) def Rockets (103).

1:30 - In April, I worked from our London office, initially, for 4 weeks that ended up turning into 6 months! It was my 3rd time working here, but this time, it felt different... This time, I felt like part of the TEAM!!

1:56 - And then there was Najma. We kept each other company for 6 months; helped each other out however we can; have jokes & laughs on her good days; dealt with her tantrums on her bad days. But at the end of the day, she's not just my work BFF, she's also a great friend. I miss seeing her & working with her everyday...

2:28 - Since badminton originated in London, I had no issues finding a place to play. I primarily played at Britannia & Bacons College and tried a few other clubs along the way. The courts, in general, are so much better in London. Badminton became my work/life balance.

2:51 - New friends across the pond. They made London feel like home to me. We would play, eat, and hangout. And they threw me so many farewell parties. It was hard leaving them to go back home (twice). Thanks everyone for the memories!

3:17 - I went to see a grand slam at Wimbledon. This is like the Super Bowl for tennis. Not just any match, a historic men's finals. Andy Murray def Novak Djokovic (6-4, 7-5, 6-4). 1st British (Scottish) player to win in 77 years. What an experience of a lifetime! Oh, and I had traditional strawberries & creme!

3:45 - On my birthday, my last weekend in London, I decided last minute to do a day trip to Paris and saw all the touristy sights! Eiffel Twoer... Notre-Dame Cathedral... Louvre Museum... Seine River... Pont des Arts Bridge aka "Love Lock" Bridge... Champs-Elysees Ave... Triumphal Arch!

4:10 - The many touristy sights of London before leaving: Piccadilly Circus... Trafalgar Square... Big Ben... Bounce Ping Pong Bar... Buckingham Palace... Sherlock Holmes... Double Decker buses... Canary Wharf... The Underground... Chinatown... Greenwich... Marble Arch... London Eye... Queen Elizabeth's Olympic Park... St Paul's Cathedral... Palace of Westminster... Regent Park... The Shard... and so many more places!

4:41 - My sister got me NFL tickets for my birthday. 1st time at a tailgate before the game. Ate so much hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken! My 4th game at FedEx Field but 1st home game win! A strong defensive goal live stand in Q4. Redskins (30) def Chargers (24) in overtime. It was the only good home game this season!

5:11 - Participated in my 1st badminton tournament. Played in men's singles. Teamed up with Erica Lin for mixed doubles. Teamed up with Andrew Kim for men's doubles. Played a total of 18 intensive games. Had 3 leg cramps simultaneously in the last 5 games but didn't give up & pulled through. Won 2nd place in group D mixed doubles. Made some new badminton friends! Survived my 1st tournament & learned a lot!

5:44 - End the year with Christmas celebration back in Virginia. Spending it with friends, family, & relatives. Eating food... and eating more food... and eating even more food. Hearing great stories that everyone had the past year. Exchanging presents and taking lots of pictures.

6:20 - The big things don't always define 2013; it is also the littest things that make a big impact. To all my friends, family, and relatives... thank you for always being there for me in 2013!

Looking Forward to... 2014!
