The Smithsonian Institution holds its Folklife Festival every year, a wonderful chance to sample culture from around the world and across the United States. This year (2009), the international focus was on the country of Wales, where men's chorales are popular. In this clip, a Welsh men's chorus named Parti Cut Lloi performs the old lullaby "All Through the Night" (Ar Hyd Y Nos)... in the Welsh language. As you can see, it's accompanied on harp by Sian James, the group's conductor.
I apologize about the poorly placed music stand -- once the song started, I didn't want to move. I shot this with my Canon Vixia HF11 AVCHD camcorder. This was recorded on the afternoon of June 28, 2009, on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
