I landed in Cairo at around 1:30 am local time (4:30 pm Pacific) on Friday August 13, 2010.

The view from the plane was absolutely spectacular -- from Alexandria until Cairo. It was unbelievable seeing the city lights, the Nile, Zamalek, the Citadel, the layer if thick, thick smog, the mass amounts of traffic that early in the morning. It's a completely different emotion than studying the Google map. Very surreal.

And btw, I sped the video up 5x for the repetitive parts. It's at full speed when it's slower, when I pass over Zamalek, Citadel, and through smog.

Oh, and music is by Egyptian (a Cairene) Tamer Husni, called Le Awel Mara. Pretty tight, eh?
