I've heard people argue about which is a better movie, The Rescuers or The Rescuers Down Under. This scene illustrates why I think Down Under is so much better and more memorable. Besides beautiful music and animation that has aged better, plus a despicable and scary Disney villain as opposed to comic relief villains, Down Under has a far superior kid character. This scene before we even see the mice, establishes Cody as a proactive character with a mission, if not particularly bright. He actively fights and tries to escape the villain, versus just waiting for someone to come rescue him. The film also develops Bernard and Bianca better and puts them & their relationship in real peril.

Such an amazing movie, probably the one I watched the most as a kid. Just watching this scene again makes me emotional. If you haven't seen it you really should, you won't be disappointing.
