The Pure Prairie Eating Plan -- the brain child of Drs. Rhonda Bell and Catherine Chan from the University of Alberta -- is a collection of meal plans that the whole family can enjoy. With funding from ALMA, Drs. Bell and Chan took their Alberta Diet and packaged it into the Pure Prarie Eating Plan to share with Albertans. This research-based nutritional information will benefit the entire supply chain-- from producers to processors to retailers -- as health-conscious consumers demand more locally grown, fresh foods.
Although originally used for diabetes, the doctors and their industry partners recognized the plan had more potential.
