Memphis Light, Gas and Water recently presented Memphis Grizzlies All-Star Power Forward Zach Randolph and First Baptist Church - Broad, Senior Pastor Keith Norman with the 2011 "Community Hero" award for their continued outstanding work in assisting local families with their utility bills.
The award, presented by MLGW Director of Corporate Communications Gale Jones Carson, recognizes citizens in the MLGW service area who go above and beyond in efforts to assist and serve MLGW customers.
Randolph was honored for his outstanding work in assisting local families with their utility bills. This year, for the second consecutive year, Randolph paid the utility bills for more than 100 families to help them during these tough economic times.
Pastor Norman has continuously assisted the citizens of Memphis and Shelby County in many areas, including helping them with their utility bills in times of need.
"On behalf of the citizens of Memphis, I thank Zach and Pastor Norman for their extra effort in giving back to the people in this community," said MLGW President and CEO Jerry R. Collins Jr.
