More info: http://bit.ly/R6Dr5I The AlphaSphere is a new electronic musical instrument developed by award-winning technology company nu desine based out of Bristol, UK. Adam Place, founder of nu desine, was in the United States recently and visited Dubspot NYC, where he showcased the performance possibilities of the AlphaSphere and explained how he came up with the idea to create a brand-new instrument. The AlphaSphere was nominated for Stuff Magazine's Design of the Year as part of the Gadget Awards 2012 (alongside inventions by Google, Microsoft, and Nokia) and has been referred to as one of "the world's most futuristic musical instruments." In this video, Adam Place demonstrates and talks about electronic music production and performance with the AlphaSphere; looking beyond conventional keyboards and exploring new musical possibilities and ideas; the intuitive nature of a spherical music instrument; and mapping, programming and sequencing samples and MIDI using the standalone application AlphaLive.
