Setting goals is simple, so long as you follow the SMART goal format. To many people set a vague goal of "lose weight," or "run more." These goals are hard to judge if you attained, because they aren't SMART. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realist, and Timetable. A fitness goal such as "Exercise four times for 30 minutes each this week" follows the SMART goal rules. It is very specific. You can measure it. It is attainable and realistic (unlike exercising 10 times a week for over an hour each time), and it has a timetable of one week. I set new goals each week, but I always have my Ultimate goals that I am working towards. Try out this process for yourself. It's a great way to stay focused and reach your goals.
