Wisconsin has opened 41,606 acres of private land to public use for hunting, fishing, trapping and wildlife viewing through the Voluntary Public Access program (VPA). This was achieved through the enrollment of private landowners in the VPA program, which provides financial incentives for landowners who allow open access to their property for outdoor recreation activities -- no questions asked.
