The Haiku Vector Icon Format is a vector image format designed to produce small files; the target file size is 1kb or less. Leah will cover the binary details of the format, byte by byte.

Leah is currently on sabbatical at the Recurse Center, where she's learning Go, Linear Algebra, and details of the Haiku OS. She previously worked at Stripe (deploy infrastructure, internal search), Google (making networks go fast), Jane Street (building tools), and Fog Creek (working on Kiln). She spent the Spring of 2013 at Recurse Center, where she played with Haiku OS, learned the Julia programming language, and wrote the Websockets.jl package. She has spoken at tech conferences, including ACM Applicative, Code Mesh, Open Source Bridge, PolyConf, Strange Loop, Strata NYC, and YOW!.
