In 1995, forty years after playing Desdemona to Mario Lanza's Otello in the Warner Bros movie Serenade, Licia Albanese was in Philadelphia to attend the annual Mario Lanza Ball. The great Metropolitan diva reflected about Mario, singing and the current state of opera generally in this conversation with New Zealand broadcaster Lindsay Perigo, who was also in Philadelphia to attend the Ball.
