The UN Human rights chief Navi Pillay has urged Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe to ensure fair and violence-free elections when the country finally votes for new leaders sometime next year.

Pillay is in Zimbabwe for a five-day visit at the invitation of the Zimbabwe government. It is the first trip to the country by a UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
