Amygdala | Bronze |
Defeat Great One: Amygdala.

Recommended Level: 65

Amygdala is an optional boss located in the Nightmare Frontier. To get to this area, you have to first go to the Nightmare lecture Building and then head through the door on the first floor. You get to this door by going down the ladder next to the giant. Amygdala can be found on the other end of the poison lake. You can either go the long way, traversing through all the tunnels to avoid the lake or just run right over it. The lake will slowly poison you though so make sure you have some antidotes and plenty of blood vials. Once you have made it to the other side, you will see an elevator nearby. You can use this to get to the boss again quickly if you happen to die.

The boss fight itself is actually pretty easy. Amygdala is one of those enemies you see in the Unseen village. It has a couple of attacks, but it usually repeats the same ones over and over depending on how close to it you are. It has basic melee attacks where it swings it arms about which does a fair amount of damage if you get caught it in. It will also jump if you are far away, and attempt to land on you. It's weak spots are; any of its arms and its head. There is no point in hitting it's legs at all because it does hardly any damage.

The best way to fight her is to hang back and wait for her to do the melee move that ends with her head being rested on the floor. You can then go in for a few hits and this will take a fair amount of damage off. She will eventually get stunned and bow her head to, when this happens you can go up to her and use a visceral attack to take a lot of her health away. Once her health is down to about 50%, she will start using laser attacks. This is when she will fire a laser beam across the floor, which then causes explosions where it touched. It is easily avoided, but does a hefty amount of damage if you get caught in it. At 30% health, two of her arms will fall off and she picks them up with her front two. Her melee attacks now have even more range, so be careful. Remember to only hit it after it has done an attack, then back off after 2-3 hits. Once Amygdala is slain, the trophy will unlock.
