Abstract

The website belongs to automobile industry whose all automotives are kept for auction/sale. The webpage maintains a search engine where user can search for used cars in a given location (based on zip code).
Usually user enters search criteria (make: Honda, Toyota etc, model: accord, civic etc, Year, zip code). When user clicks on search button, results will be displayed in hierarchical design with illustrations on the good inside a grid or table.

Purpose of the Project:
The project aims at searching and displaying process of each website listed above. Pricing Assistant (PA) helps the dealers to set sales price for used vehicles, which comes to their inventory, based on various conditions like ,year of manufacturer, total miles traveled by vehicle, average selling price of the likely vehicles in specified area, etc. Local Market Metrics (LMM) module fetch above said details by extracting data from various websites.

In this project... we have two modes
1. Batch
2. Online

In Batch mode, we will search for results in our data base first, if any results are available then we will display directly, other wise we will go for the processes.

In Online, for every request, we will do the above processes, fetch results from each site and displays results in our page i.e; When user clicks on search button, we are capture information from the sites above and display them in one place.

Existing System

The Existing system is a not computerized system which is maintained at individual databases i.e in excel sheets or papers, it’s a time delay process. And maintaining all the records in Excel sheets is difficult. If they want any record they have to search all the records. It doesn’t provide multiple user accessibility and also doesn’t have different user privileges. So the system is not accessible for all the customer.

Limitations in Existing System

• The current system is not completely complete computerized and manual system in entering students and Dealer data and handling it.
• There is no centralized database maintenance
• There is no easy access to the particular students records and articles
• The faulty cannot easily navigate through the database

Proposed System

The Proposed system is a computerized system but which is maintained at Centralized databases i.e. in automated forms it’s a very fast process. And maintaining all the records in online systems database which makes it very easy to access and retrieve data from the database. If they want any articles they can easily upload and download. It provides multiple user accessibility and also has different user privileges. So the system is accessible for all the customers

Advantages over Existing System

• It is completely automated system in handling the central database
• This system provides centralized database maintenance
• This system provides easy access to the particular customer account or his complete details
• This system provides customers to easily navigate through the application for more information in a most secure manner.
