The power to heal is far more complex than just the use of medications and clinical treatments. That is what Vanderbilt Medical students are learning, along with collaborative partners: some from the University, including the school of nursing, the law school, and local schools of pharmacy and social work; and some from community organizations, like the Legal Aid Society. Together they volunteer as teams at the student-run Shade Tree clinic.
Carole Bartoo brings us the story of how Shade Tree students and volunteers may have saved a man's life and brought a family back together again.
