Hummingbirds spend a huge amount of time fighting with each other, but most confrontations involve the use of intimidation rather than knock-down, drag-out physical contact. Dive-bombing and hovering close in a threatening manner with tail feathers flared are the most common tactics. In this production we see various flight maneuvers performed by these Allen's Hummingbirds. Both males and females can be equally aggressive.

This footage was filmed entirely with a Casio EX-F1 high speed camera. The low resolution video was upscaled to 720p during rendering to help retain as much detail as possible, in spite of the graininess.
