http://fixmycabinet.com Here's an easy way to get contact glue off Formica. If your building laminate cabinets, countertops or resurfacing existing ones just get some lacquer thinner. Removing contact adhesive is easy with this chemical.

Soak a rag and keep it moist throughout the removal process. The wetter-the better the chemical cuts the adhesive from the surface.

Safety tips:

Always wear safety glasses when cleaning the contact off of the kitchen or bathroom vanity cabinet or counter top.

Be extremely careful when opening the can of cleanser, do it slowly.

Keep the glue remover away from direct sunlight or heat sources. This liquid cleanser is very flammable.

Cabinet manufactures have used lacquer thinner for many years to get contact glue off of plastic laminate Formica. The chemical will not harm the plastic.
