This video is a live screen capture film which was originally put together to give a project customer a quick introduction into how to setup some simple machine vision inpections. The video has evolved now to also include how to output multiple object X and Y coordinates. It's a very simple setup procedure, but a very powerful and flexible tool for introducing positional data into locate/pick/place applications. A similar idea could be used to tell a robot where to grab objects from, as well as what the orientation of the object is so the robot gripper can align itself to the object.
The information from the LSIS 400i series cameras can be transmitted via RS232, or Ethernet TCP/IP or UDP/IP. Aditional switching functions can be implemented via 8x programmable digital I/O.
