Русов Лев Александрович родился 31 января 1926 года в Ленинграде. В 1947 году окончил ленинградское художественно - педагогическое училище. В 1948-1949 годах продолжил обучение в ЛИЖСА имени И. Е. Репина у Юрия Непринцева и Генриха Павловского. Участник выставок с 1954 года. Член ЛССХ с 1955 года. Писал портреты, натюрморты, пейзажи, жанровые и исторические композиции. Работал в технике масляной живописи, акварели, эстампа. Занимался деревянной скульптурой. Наибольшее признание получил как мастер портретного жанра. Произведения в музеях и частных собраниях в России, Франции, Швеции, США, Италии и других странах.
Lev Alexandrovich Russov was born January 31, 1926 in Leningrad. In 1947 Russov graduated from Tavricheskaya Art School. In 1948-1949 Russov continued his studies in the Repin Institute of Arts where he was a pupil of Yuri Neprintsev and Genrikh Pavlovsky. Since 1954 Russov has participated in Art Exhibitions. He painted portraits, genre scenes and historical paintings, still-lifes, worked as graphic artist and in wood sculpture. Russov was a member of the Leningrad Union of Artists since 1955. He died in Leningrad in 1987. Paintings by Lev Russov reside in Art museums and private collections in the Russia, France, Sweden, in the U.S., England, Italy, and throughout the world.
