One of my friends, Neomex000, asked me how I made the trees show in my other demonstration videos. I had nothing better to do this morning so I made this tutorial.

Here are the basic steps:
1. get an image of a tree
2. remove unwanted parts of the image, like backgrounds
3. save as a PNG image with alpha
4. open the PNG in Blender's UV Editor
5. create a plane and subdivide it vertically
6. select the two resulting faces and unwrap them
7. apply the PNG image as a UV texture
8. enable alpha and two-sided for both faces
9. duplicate the two faces and rotate the duplicates 90-degrees
10. duplicate the four resulting faces and rotate the duplicate 45-degrees
11. select all vertices and remove doubles

One thing to note is that, this method may not be a good one to use if you're using lights in your game's scene. The way I compose mine is, there are no lights and I simply simulate shadows through my UV images.
