Under the Motto "Beer and G-Strings" the 2009 Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival opened at Fernandina Beach's downtown Palace Saloon with a roaring rendition of a Philip Glass Composition. World renown Robert McDuffie took the violin into stratospheric heights, proving once again that he is one of the world's truly gifted musicians. Christopher Rex, organizer and artistic director of the event that lasts until June 14, a world talent all to himself as the principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, explains the Festival and its aim to reach all demographics.
