A hymn written in 1964 by Fran Minkoff and Fred Hellerman and closely associated with the US civil rights movement through the recording made by Pete Seeger. This is my own simple version recorded after rediscovering the song before a folk festival I was due to play at in Almeria Spain. I believe it has a close association with our present times nearly 50 years on from the original US drivers.I have set the recording against pictures of the Rhymney Valley - a South Wales mining valley I grew up in with a long history of hardship and struggle and of course its own protest in song Mike Carter Jones, June 2012,Llano de los Olleres
