Maxim Petrukhin, aide to Denis Pushilin, was shot dead in central Donetsk on Saturday, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) press service reported.
Petrukhin, who was a deputy in the DPR's Supreme Council, was driving a Toyota Camry on Pushkin Street when occupants of another car reportedly opened fire at his vehicle, near house number 28. The unidentified assailants then allegedly got out of the car and shot directly at Petrukhin.
The whereabouts of the authors of the assault are still unknown.
