Interview with Wright State University Theatre Chair and Artistic Director, W. Stuart McDowell, in which he welcomes new students and others to the various programs of Theatre, Dance and Motion Pictures. McDowell emphasizes that the program has first-rate faculty in state-of-the-art facilities, and that Wright State has an exclusively undergraduate series of seven degrees in the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts, so that students do not compete with graduate students for roles, or faculty time, or funding, or facilities. Most of the staff and faculty at Wright State are working professionals in theatre, dance and motion pictures, "so that students have exposure to a real-world working environment that prepares them for their careers in the arts." McDowell invites everyone interested in the program—especially high school students considering careers in the arts—to contact the department, to come meet the faculty and students, to observe a class, and see a show, or a concert, or a film screening. "Perhaps you'll find, as one of our alumni said—that for you, 'Wright State is the right place to be'."
