April 16-18 2010 a SAR Exercise was based at Kaitoke, Upper Hutt and involved members of Wellington Land SAR (Police and Volunteers) deployed into the Tararuas and around the SAREX Base at Kaitoke, training in the various aspects of SAR. This years SAREX also included Military support, and Iroquois 05 as shown in these videos was providing support to the SAREX. The RNZAF were also able to use the SAREX as a training opportunity; the bird was used to insert and recover Repeater equipment as well as search teams in the rugged country in Upper Hutt, north of Wellington.
