Ocqueoc Falls is the nation's first universally accessible waterfall. Courtesy of grants from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund, the Recreation Improvement Fund and the Recreational Trails Program, renovation work was done during the summer of 2011, with the goal of making the falls accessible in 2012. On June 29, 2012, representatives of the DNR joined members of the local community to celebrate the accessibility work with a rededication ceremony.
